J.E. Sauseda — Partner

Mr. Sauseda is one of the few bilingual personal injury attorneys in the panhandle of Texas. Mr. Sauseda began his career in 1982 as a briefing attorney for the Seventh District court of Appeals and subsequently joined the firm of Underwood, Wilson, Berry, Stein & Johnson where he practiced insurance defense.

In 1986 Mr. Sauseda left to join Hoffman, Sheffield, Sauseda & Hoffman so he could dedicate his practice to representing those who were seriously injured or killed as the result of negligence.

Chris Hoffman — Partner

After graduating with honors from the University of Texas School of Law in 1997, Mr. Hoffman gained valuable experience at the Texas Department of Insurance where he prosecuted violations of state laws and regulations by insurance companies and agents.

After his move to HSSH, Mr. Hoffman served as President of the Panhandle Trial Lawyers Association and currently serves as a Board Member on the Texas Trial Lawyers Association. Mr. Hoffman was named as a Texas Rising Star in 2003, an honor conferred upon only 2.5% of lawyers under 40 in the state of Texas.

Ryan Turman — Associate

Mr. Turman is a native of Amarillo, Texas. He attended University of Houston where he graduated Magna Cum Laude in 2000. He then attended and graduated from the Texas Tech University School of Law in 2005. Mr. Turman joined HSSH in 2006, expanding our practice to criminal defense, divorce, and family law.

Mr. Turman is fluent in both Italian and Spanish and is actively involved in local family and criminal defense associations. He is married with one child.
