J.E. Sauseda grew up in Earth, Texas, the oldest of 10 children. After graduating from high school, Mr. Sauseda attended West Texas State University where he graduated with a degree in political science and economics. Mr. Sauseda then attended the University of Texas at Austin Law School and obtained his Juris Doctorate. After law school Mr. Sauseda was a briefing attorney for the Seventh District Court of Appeals. Mr. Sauseda joined HSSH in 1986 after practicing with the firm of Underwood, Wilson, Berry, Stein & Johnson, PC. He dedicates his practice exclusively to Plaintiff´s personal injury trial law. Mr. Sauseda is one of the few bilingual attorneys in the panhandle area of Texas. He and his wife, Janie Rivas are leaders in the Hispanic community of Amarillo and in 2002 was awarded the Life-Time Achievement Award from the Amarillo Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.
